I did it, I did it!!!

I just cast off the big, bad baby blanket!! It looks great. I'm so thrilled that I got it done, and in plenty of time. We leave for vacation tomorrow morning so no time for photos now, but I will post one later. I'm so thrilled!

Suggestions for boy babies?

Thank you all for the super-nice comments on my yet-to-be-published-maybe-published-in-magknits sweater!

Now, back to business. It really seems like there are a ton of super-cute patterns out there for baby girls, but not so many for baby boys. Maybe this is just me... maybe I've just been looking out for girl patterns. Anyway, I have a couple friends w/ boy babies on the way and I really can't find anything I like. I definitely would prefer to do a sweater or an outfit. Not a blanket (used to crochet, so I've made my fair share of those). Any suggestions?

Finally got something done!

I actually do a lot of knitting for my little one. Being on bedrest for a couple months prior to her birth and staying at home after, have given me plenty of time. So, the challenge for me this time was to design something for Baby Girl myself. (Sorry Debbie Bliss!) I think it actually came out quite nicely. I decided that if I really wanted to push myself, I would have to try to have it published as well.... and it looks like it might be! I won't know for sure until it goes live, but it looks like it will be published in the Oct. issue of Magknits! Even if it doesn't make it, I'm still pretty proud. I'm not supposed to show completed photos, so here's a preview... it's an a-line top w/ a super-frilly collar. Now I just have to figure out what to make next....

Plan 9 from Outer Space

Hey there! This is my first post. I joined the KAL so that I could finally buckle down to the serious number of kid-knit UFO's I have under the bed in the spare bedroom. Most of these were knit before I even conceived my son (who turns two on September 3). I used to only knit for kids for fear that I'd lose interest in an adult-sized item. Seems I lost interest in these, too. Sigh. But I have resolved to finish at least two in the coming week! Here are a couple that I didn't post on my blog. Check out the rest in today's post, if you want a serious eyeful of intarsia.
